Lois,
I think there is alot of confusion about the Longs. My thnking is that there
were two Elias Longs. Your, I found in I'm not sure what book. At th top of
one page it says Thistle of Glasgow, 1730 and at the top of the other page it
says" Ship passenger lists". that must be the name of the book, but I'd have
to check who it's by, On page 135 I t says Fifth child of Abraham Transu " 5.
Johann Abraham, 6*6*1731, in Salisbury township; um 1755 mit Anna Magdalena
LONG, Tochter des Elias LONG (Lang).
this was always a question for me to and Our Elias Long had a daughter;Maria
Magdalena, B: 4/9/1732 in Goshenhoppen Twp. In Elias' will he mentions Mary
Magdalena, now the wife of Jacob Shneiderl this was written 8/1764. I've
also seen a record of them being married at Elias' house in 1751. That makes
it clear that she was married to Jacob before and after 1755 when Johann
married Anna Magdalena Long.

I recently wrote to another cousin about the fact that some people have the
two confused and this was her reply:

Elias Lang certainly knew the names of his children and who they married to
put in his Will. His daughter Maria Magdalena was most definitely married to
Jacob Schneider.

Jacob Schneider & his wife Magdalena were sponsors to the baptim of Sara,
daughter of Johannes Bosskirch and wife Maria on June 3, 1781, that is the
last time their name appears in the church records, in Mt. Bethel,
Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
Maria Magdalena and Jacob Schneider are in multiple church entries as
baptismal sponsors to their nieces and nephews in both Montgomery as well as
Northampton counties. After 1781 they left Mt. Bethel. She couldn't have
possibly married a Transue and had children after she had been married to
Jacob Schneider for 30 years. It just doesn't fit.

I found a file on-line where they have Maria Magdalena Lang as daughter of
Elias Lang and Anna Deer (Dorr). That is our Elias. She married a Shneider
Elias and Anna Margretha Deer had the following children:
Eva Barbara 1715
Johann Michael
Elias
Anna Marie
Josephus
Ludwig 6/20/1728
George Phillip abt1731
Johan Jacob
Marie magdalena 4/9/1731
Anna Sarah

Hope this helps you. If I can give you any other information, please let me
know.It would be nice if everyone had the correct information.
Sylvia
