Geri and listers,
We are still in search of HARRIS connection. I've worked the line back
to 1830 census, Palmyra twp. WAYNE County. An obit. places my William
HARRIS in that area by 1828, and his spouse was there earlier. He may
have met her right there, in Palmyra twp., since her mother was already
there with second husband. Where did he come from? Perhaps not from
very far away...

We also know he was born in PA on August 13, 1798, family records
consistent with later census records. Early census records for Wayne
have yielded no clues, except:

On the 1800 census, is listed an interesting name--
HARRIS, Williams

Since WAYNE was Northampton before 1798, we are looking to trace this
William(s) Harris back in Northampton area.

Does anyone know the 1790 boundaries of Delaware twp., Northampton
County PA? Would twp. lines have changed when the county itself split
into Northampton and Wayne? Looking to find borders of the
twp.--hopefully one of the borders was the Delaware River!~

We probably need to find an early, 1790's map of Northampton to figure
this out.
(Broadening our 1790 search to Northampton County, there are VERY few
Harris/Harres clues. Given names of Wm. Harris' children seem to scream
English/Welsh ancestry--HARRIET, CHARLES, William, Jr., LUCY.)
