Dieter, John or as John Deiter, wife Magdalena, W3180, PA Line, soldier
was born 15 Dec 1751, Middle Hanover township in Northampton Co. and he
was also shown as Johannes and his parents were Johannes Dieter and Ann
Catharine (Thowison) Dieter. Soldier service from Northampton Co.
Soldier married Mary Magdalena Kohlin or Kohn 15 Nov `1774 and she was
born 27 june 1757 in "Hochs" Co, PA and her parents were Conrad Kohn and
Anna Maria (Drachin) Kohn. ( One Magdalena Owerberlin was at widow's
Baptism. Soldier died 8 April 1824 at his home in Moore township. Widow
died 21 or 22 Dec 1840 in Northampton. Children were; Michael, bor 11
May 1776, Magdalne on Conrad 16 March 1777 (twins), Johannes, born 11
May 1779, Petrus, born 16 July 1781, Maria Susanna, born 1 Dec 1783,
George born 4 March 1786, Maria Magdalena born 13 June 1788, Anna Maria,
born 29 Sept 1790, Henrich, born 7 Feb 1793, Wilhelm, born 17 Sept 1795,
Catharina, born 6 Oct 1797 and Michael born 22 March 22 March 1800.
Susanna married Dieter Mafgdalena married Peter Miller, Maria married
Peter Dieter, Catharine married Samuel Clawell, and John Dieterapplied
for himself and his brothers and sisters towit; Conrad and George Dieter
of Livingston, NY, William and Michael Dieter of Crawford PA.,, John and
Susanna Dieter, Catharine Clawell, and Anna Maria Dieter of Northampton
Co and their sister Maria Magdelana who married Peter Miller died 11 Dec
1847, soldier's family were German and their family records are written
very nicely in German (were translated).
