Brewer/Felker
Brewer, James F., of Hamilton township, Monroe Co.,born July 25, 1836.
His grandfather, James Brewer was born in NJ, and came to Monroe Co when
a youg man. He purchased a tract of land in Poplar Valley, Stroud twp.
He was a soldier of the War of 1812. He married Margaret Felker, who was
a native of Stroud. Children; George, John, Samuel, James, Christopher,
Mary who married Jacob Heller, Annie married James Dennis of Stroud,
Sallie A. married John Stout, Hannah married Henry Edinger. and Rachel
who married married John Dout of Phila.

(note from me, James and Margaret are not buried in the same cemetery)/

James Brewer, father of James, was born in Hamilton township. He married
Eleanor Staples, d/o Francis and Annie Staples, and granddaughter of
John Staples, who fought in the battle of Bunker Hill.

James and Eleanor had 12 children; Annie, wife of Harrison Sebring and
they had 16 children; Catharine married Reuda Metzgar and they moved to
Iowa, their children' (James, Jerome, John, Ella and _); James F., the
3rd in the order of birth; John married Hester Albert, their
children, (Howard, James, Minerva, Sarah Ellen, and Anna); Samuel, born
1840, married Annie Hiney of Monroe County and they had children (Allie,
Clinton, Gardner, David and one who died as a child); George, born 1848
married Effie Kinney they had no children, he married 2nd Lizzie Shaffer
and they had (James, Rebecca, Charles, Minnie, Lizzie); Isaac born 1850
married Alice Felker, of Hamilton and they had ( Milo and Jennie, who
married John Keegan of Stroudsburg); Sallie, Ella, and Hannah all died
young.

The father was a veterinary surgeon. Mr. Brewer first purchased a home
in Poplar Valley, which he sold intending to moved to Ohio, but for some
reason he gave up that plan and settled in Cherry Valley, owed by his
son, James where passed the remainder of his life, dying in 1863.
She(Eleanor (Staples) Brewer was born 1811 and died at age 88.

During his boyhood James F. Brewer received the advantages afforded by
the public schools of Hamilton twp. In 1861 he married Elizabeth
"Felenser, of Hamiton, which her parents John P. and Hannah Felenser
were early settlers; they had a family of ten children; three are still
living (1900) Sallie, wife of Nathan Metzgar of Iowa;Simon lived in
Iowa; Elizabeth, Mrs. Brewer.

Heller, Brewer and Felker
Heller, James B.,of Jackson township, Monroe Co., his father was Jacob
Heller, born in Hamilton twp, where he married Mary Brewer, a native of
Stroud twp, d.o James Brewer, a shoemaker of that township.

Rev. War
Staples, John, Cont. Line (MD) wife Margaret, soldier was born 18 May
1754 in Islington, in Great Britain and land at Annapolis, MD about June
1775. He enlisted at Annapolis, he applied 1818 in Northampton Co., the
part that became Monroe Co., soldier married Margaret (?) 2 May 1779 in
Somerset County, NJ and she was born 20 July 1760, soldier died 2 Feb
1843 in Monroe County,PA and his widow died 17 Aug 1848. Children;
Rachel, born 1779, John brn 1780, Mary 1782, Rebecca, 1784, William,
1786, Jacob 1788, Frances J., 1790, Luke born 1791, Elizabeth 1794,
George Mc., born 1795, James born 1 Nov 1797, Richard, 1799, and Horatio
N. 1801. The son Luke Staples was of Monroe Co., PA in 1843
