Shenberger, Frederick H., postmaster at New Bridgeville, York Co, was
born July 21, 1871, s/o John K., and Elizabeth (Loucks) Shenberger. The
family of Shenberger is an old establised one, the grandfather of
Frederick H.,having lived and died at the point known as Conrad's Cross
Roads.
John H., father of Frederick H., was born March 13, 1833 at Conrad's
Cross Roads. In Oct 1902 his death occurred at his home and he was
buried at the Evangelical Chapel cemetery. He married Elizabeth Loucks,
d/o Samuel of Lower Windsor twp. Children, Ida, Mrs. James Thompson, of
Chanceford twp., Charles who died young, John W., Frederick H., Minerva
and Alice, who died young, William J. and Lattimer S.
Fredick H., married in 1900 to Maud M. Saylor, d/o John R., and Sally.
Children; Walter S.
Shenberger, William Jacob, MD of Chanceford twp, was born Feb 14, 1876,
son of J.K.
William Jacob married Sept 21, Anne Julia Hessert, d/o John and Mary
(Mann) Hessert.
Lancaster Co
Shenberger, John (deceased) was born at Margaretta Furnace, York Co.,
Nov 20, 1827, s/o George and Margaret (Poff) Shenberger of that county,
where the father died in 1840 aged about 38, the mother died in 1893,
aged 91. Children; Sarah, widow of Henry Graybel, of Hellem, York Co.,
Mary, w/o Henry Reisinger, Margaret, deceased wife of Benjamin Kaufman,
John, Eliza deceased wife of Adam Goodman and George, deceased.
Mr. Shenberger was married 3 times, 1st to Martha Wilson, 2nd to Eliza
Schroder, a native of York Co., who died 1861, age 27, they had
children, John who died age 30, Mary E., age 12, and William H.
William H., was married Nov 12, 1862 in Middletown, DE to Anna J. B.
Layton, who was born in New Castle Co., DE., d/o Albert and Lydia A.
(Straughen) Layton, natives of Salem Co., NJ..
Northampton Co
22 March 1791 Estate of Peter Reeg, died some time ago, Heidelberg
township. Widow, Elizabeth, children; George, eldest son, Eve, w/o
Andrew Fox, Mary, w/o George Shenberger, Barbara, w/o Peter Kuntz,
Christina, w/o John Shumacker. 1 grandchild. The child of daughter
Valpory, long deceased, late wife of Lorentz Ross
no Rev. War or War of 1812 records.
