Levan, Landis, of Lancaster twp., subject.
George Levan, his father was born in Berks Co., Feb 7, 1817 and came to
Lancaster age 13. He died May 19, 1892. Member of the German Reformed
Church, he married Nancy Landis. Children; Samuel L., Mary A., Sallie
A., w/o J.J. Ross of Seaford, DE and Landis.

Landis was born at Ephrata, June 20, 1855, he married Laura E. Martin,
d/o John J., and Catharine Martin. Children, S. High of Lancaster City,
George K., Catharine E., Marie L. and John J.

Levan, Edgar Herr, subject. His grandfather, Isaac N. Levan, was a
hatter of Reading. Edgar M. Levan, subject's father, was born in
Clarkson Co, Ohio, on Dec 25, 1850. Admitted to the Berks Co. Bar in
1872. He died Aug 1890 (railway accident) He married Dec 25, 1874 to
Anne Elisabeth Herr, sister of Col. D. H. Herr. Children, Edgar Herr
Levan, who was born in Reading Nov 19, 1877.
