Subject: [PANORTHU-L] Intro Msg. Surnames Nahodil & Freeman

Hello everyone. I ran across this list a week ago and since I grew up
in Northumberland County and my family has from there, I knew right
away that would enjoy this, especially since I've done a lot of
research on my family history. I thought I'd post an introduction, and
perhaps it may help some of you, and further my own research.

My name is Brian E. Nahodil. I was born in Shamokin in 1966 Edward O.
Nahodil and Theresa M. (Freeman). I know a lot about my Maternal tree,
but not too much about my Paternal lineage, just a few bits and pieces.

Maternal:

Theresa M Freeman (mother)
Helen (Foltz) Freeman & Alphonse Freeman (grandparents)
Sarah Templin (?) & Mathias Friedman-Great grandparents (dont have
notes with me, this is from memory)

Mathias Friedman immigrated from Germany in 1881 and settled in
Shamokin. Later changed surname to Freeman.
Paternal:

Edward O. Nahodil (father)
Flossie (Lynn) & John Nahodil (Grand Parents)

Can't remember name of Great grandparents, but Paternal Great
Grandfather immigrated from
either what is now known as Czech or from Romania with his family. I
was told not too
long ago that his father was the Head Carpenter for the King of Romania.
Haven't been able to
verify this.

Of course there is lots of other surnames in my family, Foltz, Templin,
Lynn, Seems that the Foltz line
goes back quite a long time.

Hope this helps someone, and if anyone knows anything about above lines,
(especially Nahodil) please email me.

Regards,

Brian E. Nahodil
Oakton, Virginia
