In "The Simmendinger Register", written by Ulrich Simmendinger after his
return to Germany in 1717 from this country where he had been in the
Palatine migration for seven years living in New York state, he lists as
residents in 1717:
RIETH, Leonhard, New Stuttgart, NY, and Elisabeth Catharine with 2 children
RIETH, Catharine, New Stuttgart, NY, widow with 4 children.

In the preface of "Records of Reed's Church, Stouchsburg, Pa compiled by
Oscar Hardegan and Schuyler Brossman in 1990, they state "we did the best
we could. The records of the early Reed/Reith congregation are very
incomplete and this tombstone record we have made may be the only record
that a certain person ever existed and his/her name may not appear anywhere
else." This record was published 1991 by the:

The authors also state in the preface that the inscriptions copied cover
four generations of their RIETH ancestors except for Peter RIETH, (1760-1833)
whose stone was not found meaning he may be in an unmarked grave or buried
elsewhere.
