This subject brings up something I've been intending to put on this list for
some time.

I need to explain that my e-mail address listed above is from my work place.
I normally work part time but from August to December 1997, I was working
full time, filling in for another girl. I went back to part time in January
and had surgery the beginning of February. Another co-worker left the end of
February and I have been working full time once again. We have been really
busy here and I haven't had time to post this. Yesterday, I started my part
time hours again.

There are a set of 4 books listing mine accidents at the Mine Museum located
at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg. The books cover a period from 1913
to 1930 something the last year escapes me. Most of my family work at
Knoebels including my husband. We know the Knoebel family well. While I was
off for surgery, I ask Mr. Knoebel if I could come out and transcribe the
information in these books, as they were at one time just loose pages and
some of disappeared. They have since bound them together the best they
could. He told my I was welcome to take them and copy as long as they were
returned before the Park opens April 25. I have since been photocopying the
pages a few at a time. The pages are large and I've had to reduce them to
fit on the paper. In the process of reducing, I've had to manually write in
the first two columns which are "Number of Accident" and "Date of Accident".
I have two books copied and have two more two go. These records do not list
every accident however. At the end of each month is a report of "Fatal,
Non-Fatal and Not Serious". If the accident was fatal, it is indicated next
to the person's name.

I will be happy to look up names, but please understand I must finish these
copies since I only have until the 25th of April.

Marti - This may be to late since your circ is late 1800's. I do remember
seeing the name Schlegel and the Cameron mine is covered in these records.

Hi everyone,

I have a question and maybe someone knows the answer. Is there a book,
listing or source that lists all the men and boys that died in mine
related accidents? I have a little puzzle to solve. A recently found
great aunt generously gave me a family photo album, circa late 1800's
with no names on the back of the pictures. I have been able, through
older family members, to identify a few of them. On the front of one of
the pictures it says "killed at Cameron". All the pictures have so far
been Ritzman and Schlegel, but could include Rebuck. If there is a
source available I would love to be pointed to it and perhaps I would
recognize a surname. Thanks for any help offered.

Marti
