Hi !
I'm new to this list. I'm researching the Peifers of Northumberland
County. I'm also interested in the Fersters since the two families were
intertwined. Here's how my line goes:
Henry Albert Peifer, b. 1851, Little Mahanoy Twp.
Sarah A. (Wolfe) b. 1844, daughter of John & Catherine (Wolfgang)
Married 22 April 1871 at Shamokin
Children: Emma E. b. 1872, married Louis Blessing
* Harry Edward b. 1873, married Annie Wilson
Ella L. b. 1875
Charles F. b. 1876
Bertha M. b. 1880, married Charles Neiswender
Hattie b. 1878, married L.E. Fowler
John A. b. 1885
Raymond C. b. 1890

Henry Albert's death certificate (1895) says he was the son of John &
Mary Peifer of Little Mahanoy Twp. In the 1860 census he was living with
Jonathan & Leah (Ferster) Peifer in Little Mahanoy. They had no natural
children that I can find. I suspect Jonathan was the brother of John Peifer
Jr. Also, according to an 1885 deed relating to the estate of Henry Albert's
mother, Mary Fogel, of Shamokin, Henry Albert had a sister, Harriet Fauster or
Ferster.
Would love to hear from anyone researching this line.
