Hi,

Someone wrote and asked me to tell everyone my newspaper hunt at the
State Library in Harrisburg on Friday. Well, here goes: the website PA
Access, http://accesspa.brodart.com/ is a real big help, because I
printed out the reference that I needed from that site, and handed it to
the librarian. The people there are very pleasant and quite helpful.
It is very and I mean VERY tedious going through these early papers and
I did not accomplish nearly what I set out to do. If you go, do not
expect to find everything. I did, however find about six obituaries
for direct ancestors and a few wedding announcements. The old papers
are very interesting and that can be a distraction. Now, for the good
part; I brought home goodies for all the fine helpful people on this
list; I have just spent the last day transcribing all the extra data
that I found when I copied my pages for my genealogy. It is of no use
to me, but it may just help someone else out, so I have made it part of
my web site. You will find many marriage and death announcements, plus
one divorce announcement, over 100 surnames are referenced. So to get
started, go to: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/3600, then
scroll down to and click on NEW!!! MY NEWSPAPER DISCARDS!!!! I hope
that someone finds something of use.
