Hello Linda,
Your message on the RootsWeb Northumberland ListServ caught my eye
because of your mention of Sobol and Sobers, New Jersey and Shamokin,
Pa.
My files show I am a 3rd great grandson of Samuel Sober, Sr. b.
10/12/1771 in NJ to Isaac Sober & Susan Poyer (Boyer). Samuel d.
3/20/1833 in Shamokin. He married Isabella Moore b. 10/4/1774 in Sussex
Co. NJ who d. 6/12/1842 in Northumberland Co. and is bu. in Shamokin
Twp. Presbyterian Chapel.
I have 5 sons and 2 daughters listed for Samuel & Isabella. My ancestor
is their middle son, Alexander b. 3/30/1807 in Shamokin Twp., lived out
his life in this Twp., d. 11/14/1869, and is bu. at Summit Cemetery. He
married Mary 'Polly' Foy and they had 9 sons and 3 daughters.
Please let me know if you see possibility of a connection with your line
and would like to compare information.
Best regards,
Rev. Nelson R. Sulouff

> Hi Roger, Since posting that message, I have visited Shamokin twice. I
did find Mother Cabrini thanks to the very nice locals there. I am still
in the dark about a few things. I found out our name was Sobol and we
may have a connection to Rojak and Drozowski in the Shamokin area.
Thanks for your help. Linda Sobers Montclair NJ
