STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Bertha A. Wetzel, 98, formerly of Shamokin, died Sunday, July 27, at her residence.
She was married to Alvin Leroy Wetzel, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, the Willing Workers Church group and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary, all of Shamokin.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley J. Tichenor of Indianapolis, Ind., and Patricia A. Shipman of Stafford, Va.; seven grandchildren, David Mellor, Karen Chambers, Sandra Stuckert, William Shipman, Scott Shipman, Kevin Shipman and Keith Shipman; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
