I found your post on Genforum concerning Lewis Dietrich, father of Luella
who married Elias Barnes. Elias and Luella were my great grandparents. My
grandfather was their son William John. I have Lewis's military records and
have located his and Luella's graves. I also have a photo of Luella. I
also found another Lewis just a few years younger than our Lewis. I don't
know the relationship yet. You seem to be a little farther along in your
research than I am so when I have time, I'll transcribe some notes I made
from church records. Some of the records from the church that John founded
in Mount Carmel still exist in a nearby church. I copied everything
concerning a Dietrich, but I don't know the relationship to Lewis. Lewis
and Catherine raised a son Lewis, but the caretaker of the cemetery tells me
that their was some type of illegitimate birth. Would love to exchange info
as you are the first Barnes descended from Elias and Luella that I've come
across.

Marie (nee Barnes) Berens
