Date: Thu, 4 Nov 1999 18:49:01 EST
I will again give you the website for the "Early NJ Marriage Bond Extracts" ,
copyrighted in 1999 by Patricia M. Bergener.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/nj/njfiles.htm (Scroll down to
"State-Wide Archives" and click on "Marriage Records". Then scroll down to
the Vol/part that I have provided you with in the following info. Then
scroll down to the number I have also provided you with in the following info.
Before I continue on, I need to make a correction of the spelling of a given
name on the former info. I sent to the Listers. On Vol B, part 13; August
1999; # 643, the given name of the prospective bride is ELIZABETH PATON, not
Elizabet. I mistakenly dropped the letter "H".
Now to continue:
Vol C, part 14; October 1999; # 666 - JOHN CONOLLY (CONNELLEY) (Note: the
spelling of the surname in parentheses is that of the signature) of the
"State of Philadelphia"... 30 March 1780... certificate of marriage between
JOHN CONOLLY...and ANNE LITTLE of the County of Monmoth*... (Note: Monmouth
County is in NJ).
Vol C, part 15; October 1999; # 738 - JOHN CHURCH of the City of
Philadelphia... merchant... 15 July 1784... certificate of marriage between
JOHN CHURCH and MARY RAY of Gloucester County (Note: Gloucester County is in
NJ).
Vol C, part 15; October 1999; # 773 - WILLIAM COXE, Jr. of the City of
Philadelphia, merchant... 4 April 1789... certificate of marriage between
WILLIAM COXE, Jr. and RACHEL SMITH of the city of Burlington, dau of Richard
Smith, deceased... (Note: the city of Burlington is in NJ)... the said
RACHEL SMITH is under age I so hereby signify my approbation of the said
marriage. Burlington April 3, 1789 William Smith.
Vol D, part 1; November 1999; # 001 - JOSEPH DURBOROW (DURBORROW) (Note: the
spelling of the surname in parentheses is that of the signature) of the City
of Philadelphia, shipwright... 8 July 1736... obtained license of marriage
for himself and for ELIZABETH BUNSTEAD, also of the City of Philadelphia,
spinster...
Vol D, part 1; November 1999; # 002 - ISAAC DAWSON of Philadelphia,
hattmaker... 25 May 1738... obtained license of marriage for himself and for
JUNE (possibly JANE) BLACKHAM, also of Philadelphia, spinster...
There are a few more, but I need to recheck the location number, etc. So I
will continue on shortly, to complete the list.
