I am searching for clues to the background of my great grandmother, Kate
Agusta Hawthorne (nee Closius). The only information I have is from a
1897 publication which I have copied here. I have searched the IGI and
many Roots sites but have found only one Closius (and that was in
Germany). Because of that I am looking for recommendations on where to
go in Philidelphia to research. I hope to be able to visit for at least
a day within the next 6 months and do not want to waste time.

Any help this list can offer will be appreciated.

still associated with him in the Standard Hosiery Mills of Wilmington,
operated by Taylor & Hawthorne. He is a republican and a member of
Lafayette Lodge, no. 14, F. and A.M
