Walt and others . . .
I've been noting the postings on WOODSIDE park in Philadelphia. Does anyone
know the history of this Park? I realize Woodside can be a common name
referring to forested lands but, in the latter 1800's, I also had a
relative, John Whitfield WOODSIDE, who was a philanthropist, wealthy and
heavily involved with civic activities in Philadelphia including the
President's Commission on the World's Fair held there. I was curious if
there was any connection with the park. I've heard mention of this park
before and would appreciate knowing its origins.
