Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'll keep on truckin' In
Massachusetts we have city directories that list all people. They did not
have to pay a fee to be included. In fact, they probably would not choose
to be included but the "directory" people came around every year and if you
were home, you got included. Sometimes the names were spelled wrong
(sometimes very wrong)but for the most part it is a wonderful resource.

Just because he is not listed doesn't mean he's not there. I have been told
by some that you had to pay to be listed and not everyone cared enough. Also

mostly those with occupations and who were working were listed.

He also may have been living with someone short term or unsure where he was
going to be when the directory came out and chose not to be listed.

I have relatives who were listed some years and not others. They may have
just not been around at the time the data was gathered. Who knows?
