Sondra-

Mary Louise's information is great and it does fit with the few tidbits I had
found for you. Granddaughter Martha James (Abel's daughter) is the one I
found in the Burlington County, NJ Quaker record married to a Smith. And the
grandchild Thomas Chalkley James whose birth record I listed from the Phila.
Quaker records.

This family is definitely Quaker and in the Philadelphia and Chester/Delaware
County records also.

You do know you are dealing with the same James family in VA and PA because
the Loudoun County records you quoted said they were from Phila and Chester
City (now in Delaware Co.).

Have you checked VA Quaker records? If you don't believe they were still
Quakers -- what churches DO they show up in?

Joan
