Subject: [PAPHILA] McGarvey lookup in c.1885 PCD, please?
Date: Tue, 03 Dec 2002 09:44:04 -0800

Does anyone have access to a PCD for c. 1885-1900 and is willing to do a
couple of lookups? (So far, 1883 seems to be when my McGARVEYs
emigrated from Co. Donegal, so PCDs much earlier than 1885 won't really
help). 3 of the 4 McGARVEY siblings' families I know of in c.1885-1900
are in the South Phila. and Grays Ferry areas, if that helps narrow down
the possible matches any.

They are:

James McGARVEY
John McGARVEY
Dennis McGEE (wife = Catherine McGarvey)
Thomas ROYLE (wife = Bridget McGarvey)

I don't have addresses for any of them, but in 1885-1900, the families
of John, Dennis, and Thomas (James is a newly discovered relative, so I
have nothing on him) were in St. Teresa of Avila, St. Anne, St. Paul,
and St. Anthony of Padua parishes (that I know of so far). In the 1900
census, most (excluding James) are (renting) in the 30th ward, in the
2600 block of Webster, St. Anthony of Padua parish.

If someone could do a PCD lookup, I would really appreciate it.

Or, if any McGarvey researchers recognize this family (father's name
reportedly Michael, the known siblings births are 1853-1868 somewhere in
Donegal), I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks for any help.

Claire K.
