I am looking for my husband's grandmother's family. Sarah (Sally/Nanny)
Barbara Golembeski was born 1 of 8 children in Roxborough/Manayunk on
2/25/1920.

When Sally was growing up, the family attended St. Jospehat's (Catholic)
Church. Later Sally attended Immaculate Heart. Sally died 6/12/1998 and
she's buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery on Belmont with her husband who died
in 1997.

Her siblings were (birth order unknown):
Mary
Edward (nickname Beau)
John (nickname Whitey)
Matthew (nickname Petey)
Stanley (nickname Pug)
Jeanne (married Joe Stanley) (1926-1995)
Walter (nickname Bill)
Joseph (1909-1988)

The surname was GOLEMBIESKI or GOLEMBIEWSKI when her father immigrated from
Poland.

Supposedly her father was John, but the only similar persons I have found
before 1920 are
Peter GOLEBOWSKI (1895 PCD) and Anthony GOLOMBEWSKI (1917 PCD).

Her mother was supposedly Tekla, aklso from Poland. I have found a Tekla
PATIKA in 1880 census with her brother Andrew but IF this one connects to
us, it's more likely she was a grandmother or great-aunt because she was
already a teenager in 1880. No PATIKAs are in the PCDs 1885-1900.

Sally went to Roxborough High, leaving h.s. to marry James Maurer AUCH
(Jim) about 1936-7. They lived on Pawling Street in Roxborough from the
1940s forward. They had 5 children of their own: James (Jim), Robert
(Bobby), Francis (Fran), Margaret (Peggy) and Carolyn (Lynnie). Peggy
married a WATSON and Lynnie married a ROLEK.
Lynnie died suddenly in 1997. Peggy was widowed in 1998/9. All other
children are living.

I am looking for her birth certificate and talking with her childtren, and
may file for her SS-5, but meanwhile, I thought I'd post the info in case
anyone recognizes the family. (Sorry if this cross-posts for you)
