Sorry. but I have no idea how to research in NJ that far back. The person I
was looking for was born in 1860 and the other people were also found in the
19th century. I don't know of any state with vital records as far back as 1779.
You would have to look for personal family records and church records but
since you don't know which county, this task would be all but impossible. Have
you tried going on a list and posting a message about the surname?
