I spent 2 days at the FHL this week. There is construction inside and out but
I wasn't inconvenienced at all. The U.S./Canada books have been moved to the
3rd floor, while the biographies are on the 1st floor.

One of the things I learned is that the IGI is compiled by the LDS. If
people posted before 2000, I think, they did not have to post who they were, i.e.
there is not necessarily a contact person. Fortunately, this has been changed
so that we can now contact someone we might share info with, and also might
find the source for the posted info.

As I am now finishing up some of my families, and recognizing that some of my
early research was rather helter skelter, I reviewed all resources for
certain churches in an effort to make sure I hasn't missed anything and also to
check for newly acquired names. There is a lot of duplication in the films and
books, and I realized that what was in German on one film (and therefore
unreadable for me) was in English on another, and what wasn't indexed on one film was
usually indexed on another. I just needed to be a little more organized and
less frantic in my effort to get as much done as possible.
