Hello,

I am in Maryland and just spoke with someone at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill. I was asking about information on individuals originally buried in Philanthropic cemetery and then removed to Arlington when Philanthropic closed.

He said that there is a microfilm somewhere, I believe at the archives, that records the information about who was removed and in which "box" their body was placed. If I can get that information he can tell me exactly where the box was buried. Boxes usually had several bodies and his records only indicate the location of each box in the cemetery.

So I am trying to find the box number for my great grandfather, James Faris, who died September 6, 1886. He was about 60 years old. I would also like to know if there were any other family members buried with him. I am still trying to find the whereabouts of two of his sons, a Harry/Henry and a Walter. On the death return his name is spelled Farris. If I could find any other information about him it would be greatly appreciated. He is the earliest Faris ancestor I have found and I hope to break through to earlier ancestors.

Any one else have experience with this?

Thanks,

Lorraine
Maryland
