For those of you with families that migrated to New York..a project indexing
all the the names in the New York State Census (includes all the NYC, Bklyn,
Bronx, Richmond and Queens) that were taken every 5 years is in the works.
Please help.

Thank you
Marie
A project is currently underway to create an online street index of the 5
New York City boroughs for the New York State census (1905, 1915, 1925).
Street indexes for Manhattan 1915 and Brooklyn 1915 are already online at
the One-Step website, http://www.stevemorse.org.

The next phase of this project is Manhattan 1905, Bronx 1905 and Manhattan
1925. These online street indexes will be created from the existing New
York County 1905/1915/1925 street index microfilms. The microfilmed index
cards are being digitized first, then the digital images will be provided
to volunteers for transcription and data entry.

Several volunteers are currently needed to help complete the digitizing of
the street index microfilms. Those interested will need access to a
library that has the microfilms onsite (or can be brought onsite, such as
at a Family History Center), as well as a digital microfilm scanner or
other device that can make digital images of the microfilm.

If you're interested in volunteering to digitize and you have access to
both the films and digital imaging equipment, please contact Elise
Friedman at

Check http://www.stevemorse.org often for additional volunteer
opportunities and updates to the New York State Census street indexes, as
well as the many other resources available on the One-Step website.
