Joe,

I am amazed you got a answer so fast from the church. I called them about
ten years ago and I was told to submit my request in writing and the cost
was $15.00 per name. You must have called on the right day.
Sorry, I can't help you with what was the practice when the mother died and
who took care of the children. I think it was the parish who helped getting
the children into an orphanage. I'm sure that was commonplace back in those
days. The fathers would not or could not stay home to care for the children.
The book that I referred to was--"A Century Together in Christ"--Visitation
of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church
copyright 1974 and says it was a limited edition publication produced
especially for the Visitation BVM Church by Custombook, Inc., The Custom
Building, So. Hackensack, NJ 07606. It does not have an ISDN number.

Good Luck, Ed
