I've "rescued" an old photograph of Jennie KIRK which was taken at the
Lovejoy Studio in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The photograph appears to
have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with Jennie noted as 6 months old at
the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I believe that
Jennie was likely the daughter of William & Catherine KIRK whose family was
included in the 1880 census of Philadelphia, PA.

At that time William was age 49, born in NY, a Compositor by trade whose
parents were born in Ireland. His wife Catherine was age 42, born in
Delaware to DE born parents. The couple had 4 children living with them at
the time of the 1880 census including, Rosalind age 22, Elmer age 15,
Elizabeth age 13, and Jennie age 1. Their oldest daughter Rosalind was born
in DE and the others in PA. Elmer was already working as a Copy Folder,
likely with his Father.

I am hoping to locate someone from this KIRK Family so that this wonderful
old photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a
member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thanks,

Shelley
