Helene: According to McElroy's 1839 Philadelphia Directory, McKean Court
ran South from 4 Locust. I can only assume that means 4th and Locust since
no other explanation is given. That would be in the vicinity of Washington
Square on the West, 3 or 4 blocks from the Delaware River Waterfront on the
East, and about 8 short blocks (1/2 mile) south of High Street (Market
Street.) Definitely, old Philadelphia. Marj in NC
