McElroy's Philadelphia Directory for 1839 lists Decatur Street: South from
210 High (High Street later became Market Street, the main E/W street
through Philadelphia) to Carpenter. Carpenter Street is listed: West from
South 6th to 7th between High Street and Chestnut. As near as I can figure
it, that would be about the corner of High and Carpenter. Independence Hall
is in that location. Marj in NC

Can someone give me a website that has old Philadelphia maps? I am looking
for the period of 1815-1825 and the location is 208 High Street near Decatur
Street. I am also looking for the period of 1895-1905 and the location is an
area of 27th Street to 34th Street between Hartranft Street and Stewart
Street (I think this is the Sun Refinery).
Thanks,
Bill

In those days, High St. was what is now Market St.
