Since he married Nellie after 1885, there should be a marriage license on
file. Since they lived in Tafton, they probably got the license in
Honesdale. The Wayne County Historical Society has the licenes on
microfilm.
I don't find them among the gravestone inscriptions at the Wayne Couny H. S.
foir the three Hawley cemeteries, but they could have been buried without
stones. Death certificates usually tell place of burial. However, without
a firm date of death you'd need to do a search over more than a year.
It's odd that none of them show up on the census - even the very young ones.
Looks like an indexing problem, although they could have been missed.
