I saw the IGI entry for John Charles, with parents Charles and Charlotte but I'm a bit reluctant to accept it because there are other references to John being born in Deptford - eg. 1851 census where he's living with his dad.

I also can't find our John in 1841 census - there's a family with Charles as the head, but son John is 15 which is a bit too old. Plus, some of the other children (Matilda, William) have a different mother (from IGI) - not too unusual but is a loose end that needs to be cleared up. Don't suppose you've got any additional information?

As far as Sarah Moore is concerned, I've applied for the marriage certificate to confirm that her father is Joseph. Nice that she shows up in the Poole household in 1851, right before her marriage to John! I assume she's the Sarah Ann More who appears in the IGI, born in Woolwich.
