I can't speak for all Partain lines, but George Gabriel or Gabriel George
Partain who was in 1830 Cocke Co. TN as "Partin" beside his brother Benjamin
"Partin" who later went by "Parton" both were sons of a John Parton whose
DNA matches the descendants of Robert Parton (Partin on one list, but Parton
on all other original records that I have seen) who came from England in
1609 to Jamestown and was one of the few residents who survived the Starving
Time.

I have yet to see evidence of a Partain immigrating from France, but I am
not saying that it is impossible. I would say the above Partons were in
England for hundreds of years. There are still Partons living there.

I realize more now than I did in years past that I do tend to focus in on y
children's group. I have started a DNA Project and would be glad to have you
participate in it.

If you could give me more specifics on your line, I may be able to helpyou
with it.
