Subject: [PASCHUYL-L] Civil War in Pottsville
Date: Mon, 1 Mar 1999 22:14:06 EST
Hello all,
Today I found an ancestor (Daniel KNOTT) who is listed in the NJ 1890 census
(Civil War Veterans) as having served in the 48th regiment, Company G, in
Pennsylvania, for 3 months in 1863. I have searched many, many sources and
cannot locate his name in any of the rosters. Could it be that his company was
"on call", or a form of reserve, and wasn't actively fighting, and so wasn't
listed anywhere? I've found alot of information on Pottsville's 48th regiment,
and very little on Company G.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Any suggestions are
appreciated! Thanks...
Holly Knott
