Hello List, I don't believe it is right to charge such a rate for ancestry.com. Yes they have lot of databases available but most of that info comes from individuals that transcribe the info for free then ancestry.com charges you to see it. Many items they charge you for are free on other sites and lots of the information is available in the books and databases at your local
LDS sites and Historical Society Genealogy Libraries. I paid once and believe it or not the info they had came from the exact sources I had gotten from my LDS and HSG Library. Ancestry.com used to offer all of its new databases for free for 14 days, then if you didn't find what you wanted then you didn't waste your money, then if you did find info then you had to pay to see
more. I don't agree with this. Thanks for others who agree, I am more than willing to help locate info from my Historical Library in Oklahoma City for anyone who needs info. Shelly

After reading the details I learned that one needs to submit credit card information and further, this 2 week trial offer will not automatically cancel. The free subscriber needs to remember to re-enter the billing site and cancel out. Otherwise his/her credit card is billed on the 15th day for a full membership fee.
