Can anyone clue me in on the practices of the Russian Orthodox Church in Wilkes Barre, PA in the 1908-1921. I have some russian documents which indicates a church birth certificate. My question is the birth is noted 12/14/1908, but the date of the BC is 11/21/1921. What's the accuracy of this. Problem is I cant' find this relative anywhere, no census, no marriage, nothing except this document with an extremely different spelling from my name (direct descendant)i.e. Prisjaznif or Prisjaznik. Any help with OBts, or local papers would be appreciated. Also have a Catholic "estractus" from Mahanoy City, I think this is a divorce dated 1920, very confused, and my latin doesn't work.
