When many people speak of Beers, they are referring to "Commemorative
Biographical Record of Northeastern Pennsylvania," which, like the atlas,
was published by Beers. It contains (auto)biographies of citizens of the
time - frequently including genealogical background. It is a great source
as long as you keep in mind that (a) people sometimes tend to exaggerate the
importance of their ancestors and (b) information becomes distorted as it
passes through succeeding generations. Also bear in mind that the people
who were included paid for the privilege.

I know that both the Wayne and Susquehanna Historical Societies have library
copies. It's probably available elsewhere (LDS?) and some publisher like
Higginson may even have a reprint edition for sale.
