Doug,
I was originally looking for a map of Susquehanna town which would show
Railroad St, because my Dad, Edward Brick was born there....number 4 child of
Michael and Margaret (O'Dea) Brick, who emigrated from Ireland in 1886. My
Grandad, Michael who died just before I was born worked as a Car Inspector on
the Erie Railroad for over 50 years. Came to Hickory Grove/ Susquehanna area
earlier than marriage...abt.1876 or so, by having his passage paid by RR and
hence "worked of the cost". The family lived on Railroad St 1886(?)-1890's,
then later Washington St in the 1913-1920's/30's. In between, I have a
property listing for them for River St in Susquehanna,(I think, suppose it
could be Oakland across the river.)
Am still looking for the map of appropriate time. Have been to Susqy several
times recently, but haven't yet contacted Hs Soc. abt it.
Looks like our families could have been neighbors.
Jeannette
