I would be willing to bet a dollar that every single Pate in early Jefferson and Sevier Co's, TN is descended from Anthony & Sarah English Pate and that includes Emanuel Pate of Coosa. Of course the Jacob Pate in Jefferson is a known descendant of Anthony thru his son Jeremiah Pate & Christina Harmon. But Anthony and Sarah's sons John, Matthew, Thomas, and Anthony were all in that area and had descendants. Problem is there are too many burned courthouses to prove it...hence the dollar only bet.
Diana
Descendant of Nancy Pate Lindsay of Jefferson Co, TN and Coosa Co, AL who I believe but can't prove beyond a shadow of doubt to be the descendant of Thomas Pate Jr. & Hannah, Thomas Pate Sr & Catherine, Anthony Pate & Sarah English.
