I'm searching my GG-Grandfather Josiah Patterson's line. Starting with my Grandfather's Bible this is what I
have:

Josiah Patterson b.Sept 6, 1833 in NC. d. Jun 27, 1904 in Mooreville, Falls Co TX.
married in 1854 to Elizebeth J. Fowler b. Nov 2, 1834 in SC d. Aug 14,1903 in Mooreville, Falls Co TX.

I know they moved to Texas in 1880's.

This is what I found in the Fed. census.

1870 Census Pulaski Co. Kentucky
Patterson, Josiah M. Age 35 occupation Coal Miner age 35 Born N.C.
Wife Elizabeth age 34 Keeping house Born S.C.
Wiley A age 12 (works on farm) born in Georgia
Sarah C. age 8 born in Tenn.
Josiah 7 born Tenn.
William S. 4 born Kentucky
Mary P. 10 months born Kentucky

1860 Census Marion Co. Tenn Pg#263
Patterson, Josiah age 24 occupation Rail Road Laborer
Wife Elizabeth J. age 23
Son Wily A age 2.

I am now searching GA, NC, SC and may have found a link, but have a problem with Josiah's age in 1850 census.
