Please do not post attachments, or zipped files to any mail list.
Please do not post non genealogical items such as virus warnings,
lost mail, other off topic etc to SURNAME lists. Please privately
post your concern or need to the listowner for help. If you have
not received answers to posts, or server problems etc, contact me.

Computing Discussion List I believe you can
subscribe by sending SUB GENCMP-L your name to
in body of the message. (There are other Methods/chat groups also)
If you send GEDCOM include it as ordinary text in body of message.
If you have not posted for a while, or have not received answers
to your posts please repost PATTERSON etc genealogy to the list per:

Cc:

Subject: PATTERSON repost of (give name, YEAR, STATE or province next)

message - repeat the details in full keeping focused on PATTERSON etc

Always BEGIN post to each surname list with the SURNAME in caps
as the first word of the Subject:

-if possible please follow with a key YEAR and a key STATE next.
Then give detail in message body in text (no attachments please)
In the message body - focus should be the SURNAMEs of the list.
If you've web pages please include significant samples on topic.
If you wish to advertise off topic or comment otherwise ask HH.
The ratio of actual on-topic data content to other must be high.
Please check out all web URLs - give correct addresses, focus.
Please tell HH your old addresses/new ones, lists if changing.

As a minimum please begin every post to the PATTERSON list with the
name XXXXXXXXXX (or other variant spelling or group name)
as the first word of the post per the Subject:

If a list seems slow, post your genealogy to it to revitalize.
If you get an error message READ it & ask me if you need help.
In such case copy me the whole message and with full headers.
If it says user unknown that means they no longer have service.
You cannot resurrect them. Ask me per alternate routes. ALL
subscribers should by now have given me their snail mail &
alternate e-mail addresses, phone numbers for audit trails.
With such data I may be able to better manage error loops.
Please send me such info now if you've not already done so.
Everyone please post your PATTERSON genealogy to the list.
