I live in Texas but about 500 miles from the county
of Texas that you mention. I will look in my books
and the Texas Census to see if I might could help
you.; If your ancestor died in Texas after the year
1903 there should be a death certificate in the
capitol city of Austin, Texas listing cause of death
and parents' names. This is Texas law that births
and death records be sent to the archives in Austin.

Just an informational note. Interstate 10 which runs
from Orange to Houston to San Antonio to El Paso is
878.7 miles long. So you can judge the size of the
state by that and can plan accordingly when coming
to Texas to do research. Some have some thinking
they could cover more territory than it is possible to
cover in a small amount of time. From the tip of Texas
to the top of the Panhandle is well over 800 miles.
