I finally found the proof of the spelling of my Paterson. The headstone has
only l T and I found some old post cards sent to my father by aunts and
cousins hand written with 1 T .
Albert Taylor Paterson
b. 08 Jul 1861 Hickory Co., Mo.
d. 11 Mar 1948 Clarksburg, Moniteau Co., Mo.
burried New Zion Cumberland Presb. Cm.
m. Clara Emma VanEtten (no year)
b. 15 May 1861 in Il
d. 20 Dec1902 Moiteau Co., Mo.
burried New Zion Cumberland Presb. Cm
Children:
Martha Josephine b. 22 Jul 1883, Prairie City, Il m. John Nelson Palmer 11
Jan 1905, Cooper Co., (my grandfather) She died 10March 1931 buried New
Zion Cumberland Cm.
Emma b. Jan 1886 , Prairie City, Il m. John Wright
Brita b. Jan 1891 in Mo. m Sherman Streby
Grace b. Au 1897 Mo., m Leslie Fain
According to A. T.'s death certificate his father was William married to
Martha ? One of my aunts said the only children she knew of were A. T.
,Robert L., b. 1 Jan 1856 d. 17 Aug.. 1910 and Stuart who died in WW 1.
She said the ancestors came from Scotland. They also spelled it with 2 T's
sometimes so they wouldn't be called Paterson with the long A.
Do these names look like one of your ancestors.
June
