I am looking for the origins of my Patterson line in Harford County
(originally Baltimore County) Maryland. The earliest ancestor I have is
Robert Patterson (1715-1764). Robert and his descendants were members of
St. George's Spesutia Church, in Perryman, MD (Spesutia Hundred).

In looking for his origins, I find a James Pattison on the early tax lists
in Spesutia Hundred:

Does anyone have any information on James Pattison or on Pattersons in
Harford County? Is is possible that the surname Pattison could have been
changed to Patterson--that James might even be Robert's father?
