I am seeking information on my great grandparents: James Franklin GRAY and wife, Powl Patterson GRAY ie. ANYTHING [names of parents, birth, death, marriage etc] . All I have is their names. I have been told that Powl Patterson Gray died when my grandfather was just a small boy [date and place unknown] and James remarried to Maggie LAMB.

At the time of my grandfather, Arthur Thomas Gray's birth [9 January, 1883] they lived in Searcy, White County, Arkansas.

James Franklin & Powl Patterson GRAY had the following children:

1. *Arthur Thomas GRAY B. 9 Jan. 1883 -Searcy, White Co. AR

M. 12 Nov 1902 DeQueen, Sevier CO. AR

D. 1 Jan 1961 San Angelo, Tom Green CO. TX

Married: Maudie Dean Harris

2. Laura GRAY who married John Neel / Neal They had 3 sons J.B.; Jim; and Erin

[Ernest ?]

3. George GRAY who married Clara Unknown They are said to have had 1 girl and 2

boys

4. Minnie GRAY

5. William GRAY

According to Arthur Thomas GRAY's delayed Birth

Certificate he was the fourth child born to these parents.

a.. My aunt told the story that James Franklin Gray had a brother whose name was John or Henry or maybe John Henry Gray whom they thought at one time was in New York and she thought that they had said that he had 2 sons.
b.. My aunt also told me that James Franklin Gray drove a freight wagon and would take his family went him. On one of these trips Powl is said to have taken sick and died and that she was buried in Sundown, Sunset or Sun something in Texas. I have written to every town in Texas with SUN in the name and all replies have been negative.
c.. My father was the second child of Arthur Thomas & Maudie Dean Harris GRAY
