Denise,

I'm not sure if this Joseph J. Patterson that I have in my database is the
same one, but we can take a stab at it. My info is on my website at
wespatterson.com, and here is the url for the family group that has a Joseph
J. Patterson as one of their children:

The parents of this Joseph J. Patterson were James K. Polk Patterson and
Malissa Owenby (Patterson). They were born in Union Co., GA, both in 1848.
They were married on 9-24-1863 in Fannin Co., GA (north Ga right at the
Tenn, NC, and GA borders). James and Malissa died in and were buried in
Union Co., Ga in 1935 and 1929, respectively.

According to my records, there were 9 children. I only have the birthdates
of 3 of them, not including Joseph J. Here is what I have:

* Mary A.
* Sherman
* Joseph J.
* Thomas
* Donor S.
* Zidiah
* Falby Caroline (born 10/1869, married James Royster Harper)
* John M. (born 6/1883)
* Andrew G. (born 12/1888)

The order is not correct... this is simply a software sorting issue where
the date-less ones are put first. Perhaps someone else can help us with
dates. Do you recognize any of the names that may have been passed down to
your aunts/uncles, etc.?

The ancestors of James K. Polk Patterson go back three more generations in
my files as well. Hope this helps. If we do find a link, please let me know.
I'd like to add you to the descendant list of John and Margaret Black

James descends from the above Falby Caroline Patterson Harper. Take care.
