Hi List:
I can't believe there is no one out there researching John (Wishard)
Wiseheart or his son John.( Or siblings)
John I was born in Ireland ca 1730, and immigrated, with a wife, Agnes_____
to (VA?). He settled in Antrim Twp, Cumberland (Franklin) County, PA in
17--. He had sons, Joseph, Edward, James and John II (b ca 1750-55) and
daughters Nancy (Agnes) and Mary. John I died in Cumberland County in
1778. I have a listing of his heirs. and a copy of his widow's will.
Edward, James, John and Joseph are all found in a book "American
Revolutionary Soldiers of Franklin Co., PA" by Virginia Shannon Frederick.
John II went to the east side of the mountains at Waynesburg next to the
Washington County line, in Smith Twp, on Racoon Creek, where he met and
married Sarah Stewart, daughter of Robert Stewart, prominent resident and
farmer and Ann McGough. John II purchased land in Washington County 16 May
1795, and 3 days later, purchased additional property including what was
once known as Hoageland's Fort, which the Rankins, Buxtons and others used
as a place of protection.
John II's son, John III moved to KY and married Mary Catherine Razor,
daughter of Paul Razor and Mary Cook, daughter of Harmon Cook.
PA land records show where Robert Stewart deeded a tract of land called
"Triple Attack" in Hanover Twp., Washington Co., to his daughter Sarah
Wiseheart, lawful wife of John Wiseheart.
Anybody researching these lines, whether in VA, PA, or KY, I would be
delighted to correspond with them and exchange any info.
Regards
Bonnie in Idaho
