I found the following letter in the family bible from Jacob
Hiles in Shipensburgh, Cumberland Co, PA to Mr. William
McMillin in Cannonsburg, Washington County, PA. I have no
idea why this letter has been saved for 170 years but suspect
that either Jacob Hiles or William McMillin are ancestors of
mine. A Jacob Hiles shows up in Washington County in the 1830
census. Any information would be appreciated.
