Welsh Know of Washington, spent Sabbath with his cousin, Miss
Flora
Moss.
Miss Edna Sprowls, left Monday for Cambridge, Mass., where she
will
enter Emerson college.
Call Hair of Wheeling, was a visitor here Tuesday.
Mrs. Richey of Chicago, is visiting her sister, Mrs. Samuel
Bonar.
Mr. and Mrs. William Noble and Ross McCarty were Pittsburg
visitors
on Thursday.
While out hunting Monday, Allen Garden, a youth of Wheeling, was
accidentally shot through the leg by a boy of this place.

Beham
Miss Jean Wirt, daughter of Prof. Wilson Wirt died at her home
in
Dallas, on Thursday, October 18, 1900, after a long illness of typhoid
fever, aged 19 years. The funeral was held at 10 o'clock, Friday.
Miss Velma McKean, of West Alexander, visited friends here last
week.
Misses Myra and Celia Carroll have gone to West Liberty to take
a
course in the State Normal school.
Dr. C.A. Blayney, was the guest of his brother Alfred last week.
William Wallace and family are visiting friends in Buffalo and
Independence township.
A party was given on Thursday evening by Mrs. Dessie Blayney in
honor of her guest, Miss Mae Smith, of St. Louis. Music, games, etc.,
with a
delectable luncheon were features of the evening. About 50 guests were
present.
A.L. Ritchey and wife visited friends in Triadelphia this week.
Miss Avis Dolan is quite ill.
Isaac Whiteman is quite poorly.
N.B. Brockman and daughter, Miss Susan, of Claysville, spent
Saturday here.

Donley
Mrs. Florence Patterson is suffering from erysipelas.
Samuel Snodgrass is not as well as usual this week.
George Mealey is bailing hay on the A. Jamison's farm.
M.L. Shaler and his force are rapidly putting up a shed and
granary building for W.J. Mehaffey.
It has been to dry to husk much corn this week.
Pete Cherry is sojourning at H. Gunther's this autumn.

West Alexander
Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Yates attended the exposition Saturday.
Mrs. Rebecca Cheek left Tuesday for a visit with Friends at
Washington and Waynesburg.
Mrs. Adda McCammon and Miss Jane Purcell spent Tuesday with West
Liberty friends.
Miss Bessie Pasco an employee at Dixmont is spending a short
vacation at her home here.
Lester Henderson, of Washington, spent Sabbath at his parents,
Mr.
and Mrs. William Henderson.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Guess and son and Mr. and Mrs. Rice Blayney
spent Saturday and Sunday with friends at this place.
Mrs. Sarah Anderson and Mrs. Laura Valentine attended the
Anderson-Haggerty wedding at Washington on Wednesday.
George and Tony Strauss and sister, Mrs. Daisy Lewis, returned
Monday from Baltimore, where they had taken the remains of their father,
Aaron
Strauss, another sister, Mrs. Add McGee, also accompanied them.
MARRIED-At the home of Mrs. Ann Craig, near town, at high noon,
Thursday, October 18, 1900 by Rev. George McDonald, Miss Flora Moss and
Edward Egan, of Coon Island. The wedding was a very quiet affair only a
few intimate friends of the contracting parties being present.
MARRIED--At the home of Mrs. Anna Craig, near town, at high noon on
Thursday, October 18th, 1900, by Rev., George McDonald, Miss Flor_ Moss
and Mr. Thomas Edwin Egan. After congratulations an elaborate wedding
repast was served. The bride was attired in a costume of white organdie
and carried a bouquet of bride's roses. Mr. and Mrs. Egan left on the
afternoon train for a brief wedding trip eastward. Among those present
were county treasurer, W.S. Armstrong and wife, J. Montgomery and
wife, and Robert Know, Esq., of Washington; Mr. and Mrs. J. C.
McConahey, Miss Etta and Fred of Claysville, together with about a score
of intimate friends of this section.
