My paternal great grandmother Hannah Bigelow Layhew was a great
grandaughter of the infamous Charles Donaldson who was hung for the
murder of his son William in Monogalia Co., VA 1797. Chas. purchased
2600 acres in 1780's. His children were
1. Margaret who married Martin Able (my ancestors), 2. James (1764-1850),
3. Hannah mar Jacob Smith, 4. Jacob moved to PA, 5. William , 6. Susan.

I have considerable info on descendents in SW PA. and want to share!!!!

Hi Russell.... quite the coincidence that you are decendent from the Krepps
AND the Donaldsons, but it appears that you Donaldson line is different from
mine.... Although its also interesting that your Donaldsons were from
Monongalia Co (W) Va, and that my Krepps line moved TO there from PA.....
I've found no Layhews in my family tree, (Although I know a Layhew that
lives still in the area!).

My Krepps line is as follows.....(I don't have much info... perhaps your
Krepp's could be siblings or parents or cousins!)

1. Joseph KREPPS (24 dec 1800 - 7 jul 1878) place of birth unknown living in
Allen Twp, Washington Co PA in 1870.

2. William S KREPPS (31 mar 1830 - 18 nov 1867) not married.. died in

2. James L. KREPPS (26 feb 1836 - 1920) born Belle Vernon, Fayette
Co., PA
md three times, Moved in 1884 to Morgantown, Monongalia Co (WV)
md1. Lucinda DONALDSON (1842-1877) daughter of John and Mary
Ann
(STEPHENS) DONALDSON (John and Mary Ann are my GGGrand
parents)
3. William KREPPS (1863-1870)
3. Joseph Allen KREPPS (1871-???)
3. John Henry KREPPS (1872-1943) died in Morgantown

md2. Mary A. FROST (1835-1893) It is possible that Mary Frost
was his first wife... he married Lucinda in 1866 and William was born in
1863? still checking on this!

I'm sending this to the Washington, and Fayette PA Lists, as well as
Monongalia WV list... perhaps others out there have info on this , or your
Line.
