I am searching for Ancestors/Descendents of James (or Joseph) Smith who was
born in August 1866 in (according to family, Washington Co) Pa according to
the 1900 census and died 2/25/1938 in Allegheny Co. Pa. He is buried in
Mt. Lebanon Pa. He was married to Catherine (Katie) Heenan. Smith is like
a stone wall. I have requested his death certificate under James and under
Joseph (census enumerator had Jas.or Jos.) but New Castle said they have
no record of death. He signed his wifes death certificate as informant but
his signature is not clear. I have been to the cemetery and took pictures
of the tombstone (James) and have cemetery records. The funeral home who
handled his body was G.C. Jones in Allegheny County Pa. If noone knows the
Smith's, does anyone have a clue as to how to find what funeral home would
have the records ? Thanks for listening.
